Deleted Channel in "soft delete" beyond 30 days

32 days ago, I performed maintenance on a Team that maintains client information within Teams which when you add the deleted channels with the real channels, meet the 200 channel threshold (all are standard channels). I have some new clients to add as a channel, and I've been waiting the 30 days for the soft delete to purge, but now it has been 32 days and the deleted channels are still in that 'soft delete' and I cannot add any new channels.

I checked and we don't have a retention policy in place for Teams. I don't know what else to do to get these channels to become permanently deleted so it allows me to add additional channels. What else am I missing in deleting these channels?

Hello, it’s actually only 21 days for channels (30 for M365 groups). See if these articles can shed any light on the matter for you as I believe it’s policy is preventing it.
