Accessing Teams Meeting from Android App on Google Chromebook

We have an interesting challenge - trying to get an invitee to a Teams meeting to access from a meeting link on a Chromebook with the app - shows as "connecting" but does not enable the meeting to be joined.

They see the same behaviour if the hyperlink for the meeting is copied and pasted into Chrome.

However a hyperlink created on another machine having accessed Teams via the browser does allow the meeting to be joined, in the App, on the Chromebook.

Our fallback position is to uninstall the app and simply access via Chrome - but does anyone have any more robust suggestions for a solution?
