2 Teams account with same email

Copper Contributor

Hello, I have apparently 2 Teams account one personal one organisational (and I don't belong to any organisation). So when I try to log in, I get the error message This app only works with Work or School account. And I did install the Home version.

I tried to speak to Teams support, didn't achieve much, just to confirm I have a personal and an organisation account.

How can I delete one ?

Hi @cyrilmadrid,

If you have both a personal and an organizational Teams account with the same email address and you want to delete one of them, you can follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. It's most imorant to confirm which account you want to keep (personal or organizational). Log in to the Teams website using your email address and password for each account to identify which one you want to retain.

2. Delete the Unwanted Account:
To delete the unwanted Teams account, you'll need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance (as far as I know there is no option for you to do it all by yourself). Explain the situation to them, mentioning that you have both a personal and an organizational account with the same email address, and you want to delete one of them (be sure which one)

- Go to the Microsoft Support website: https://support.microsoft.com/
- Sign in using your personal or organizational account (the one you want to keep).
- Choose the available support option.

Please click Mark as Best Response & Like if my post helped you to solve your issue.
This will help others to find the correct solution easily. It also closes the item.

@LeonPavesic I resolved the issue by chatting to second level of Microsoft support. I downloaded Teams for Small Business and that solved the issue. Thanks for your help,
