M365 group-disable permissions for group Members to add other members

Hi, 

 

I created a M365 private group in the admin center.  In outlook, if I open the group, in the 'Members' tab, both group Owners and group Members have permissions to add new members. 

 

Is there a way I can restrict the permissions so that only owners can add new members?

      Yes, I am currently a member in this group and I was able to add another member.


      • Hm, seems I'm able to reproduce this via OWA, Outlook and Teams work as expected though. I've pinged few folks on this, but best open a support case and report it.
        Out of curiosity, does the account you're using have any admin permissions?
