Alerting if new Global Admin is added to tenant?

Copper Contributor

Is it possible to set an alert on changes to the Global Admin role membership? Any direction would be most appreciated.

You can go to https://protection.office.com/unifiedauditlog and then click the new alert button, change the alert type from Custom to Elevation of Privileges, give the alert a name, description and then an email address for the alert to go to and then press save.

Hope that helps,

Iain.

You should actually have a built-in alert for that under https://protection.office.com/alertpolicies

And the Azure AD Privileged Identity Management feature should also be mentioned: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/privileged-identity-management/pim-configure

I have a built-in alert option for elevation of Exchange admin but nothing else

Hi @Iain Fielding

This article is about excatly what I'm trying to do however, things in 365 have moved around and been renamed a few times since 2019. Where can i find these same settings in the modern version of 365 - IE, Sept 2024?
