Any hope of an admin role for access to these reports in the near future? The people who need to review them regularly should not be full tenant admins.

Re. a "reporting" role - the ability for non-administrators to interrogate reporting data and produce reports is commonly found in third-party products. Take a look at Cogmotive Reports (www.cogmotive.com), which offers a free service to tenants with less than 50 seats. They have lots of reports - far more than you find in the Admin Center - all of which can be generated by non-administrators.
