I now see a new license in our admin console.

Microsoft 365 E3 Extra Features

It did not auto apply to existing Office 365 E3 or EMS E3 users.

What is in this line item?

This appeared in our console as well on August 4 (according to the History tab on our Licensing page). We are unsure what's included, and have reached out to our VAR for clarification.

That said, it appears that adding it to an employee's Office 365 E3 license (*not* Microsoft 365 E3), gives them access to the new Bing Chat Enterprise (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/bing/chat-enterprise?form=MA13FJ).

One feature in this must be the Bing Chat Enterprise. Turning it on made Bing chat switch to protected mode.

Here it shows a relation to "Windows_Autopatch" could that be or how is it related to Bing Chat Enterprise? Is this license free and why has it been added, by itself?

Yes, it is add on but not a pure E3 license, like Teams\Skype for Business at past

• Assign the Microsoft 365 E3/E5 Extra Features license to the Microsoft 365 E3/E5 “Original” users you desire to have access to Clipchamp.
• This license enables features that are not enabled via the Office 365 E3/E5 and EMS E3/E5 licenses provided via the Microsoft 365 “Original” SKUs.
• Note: The Microsoft 365 E3/E5 Extra Features license is available at no additional cost.

"The Microsoft 365 E3/E5 Extra Features licenses enable features that are exclusive to Microsoft 365 E3 and/or E5 and are not available via the Office 365 E3/E5 or EMS E3/E5 licenses provided via the M365 E3/E5 Original SKUs.

By assigning the Microsoft 365 Extra Features license, you will also have access to other such features in the future, such as Big Chat Enterprise and Microsoft Loop."

This is so annoying. What is this license covering? Why isn't there any clear statement in Azure what it does? Typical MS.... Confusing...
