Remove duplicates limitation?

Is there a limit on the number of characters that MS Excel searches to determine duplication?  If not, are there any characters/formats that it doesn't "like"?

@NikolinoDE I appreciate the info.  It did not address the character limit for determining duplicates, so that means the question is either too detailed, or there is no limitation (the entire field is considered, up to it's character limit).  Just can't be sure.
