Pivot table for donations

if someone could walk me through creating a pivot table for donations received with the below requirements:
how many individual donations we've received since creating our Canada Helps donation portal,
total amount of donations received through that portal
how many monthly repeat donors we have
 
I have already put all the data into a workbook but am having trouble knowing which elements to populate in the rows, columns, filter and values fields

Since step-by-step guides are already out there, I'm just going to refer you to several of those.

  • Here's the first, and this site happens to offer good tips on many Excel features.
  • And then there's YouTube, which has many demos of Pivot Tables.

Maybe what you could try is to create a backup copy of your file, and then just give yourself permission to experiment with it. You're not going to break anything, and you'll probably figure it out by yourself pretty quickly.  But, if after viewing those you still need help, by all means come back. Pivot Tables are both very useful and a bit tricky to first get to work.
