Nevertheless, here is a quick solution proposal with VBA code (with reservation, as there is no information about the version, operating system, etc.):

Sub Bold()
' example like this
ActiveCell.Value = "Excel is great!"
ActiveCell.Font.Bold = True
'or so
Range("A2").Value = "Excel is great!"
Range("A2").Font.Bold = True
End Sub

You could also do it with conditional formatting.
