Function to reference certain formula to text

Trying to make a spreadsheet for costs breakdowns. I have all of the business expenses and how much they each cost but I want to be able to type the task name into a column and it auto formulate how much the total expense was. For instance, it cost $3/acre to plow a field. I click on the spreadsheet with a 100 acre field, I want to go to that field data and type "plow" in a column and in the next column it auto calculate =3*100, without me having to do the formula. I just want to type "plow" and it automatically calculate. So then I would see that specific task cost $300 and at the end of the year I can see the total expenses I put in.

Your posted question has had nearly; 60 views and no replies.  I'm going to suggest that you have gotten that lack of response because what you've posted (the images) doesn't make much sense in connection with your request. The one instance where the word "Plow" appears in an image, it's next to a 5. But you want to be able to have $3 multiplied by the number of acres in your stated request. How are we to connect these two salient parts of your question??

So let's back up. Your data will probably need to be organized more coherently (it may be coherent to you; you created it) for outsiders reading it, and for anybody to be able to write reliable formulas in Excel that will work with clear reference to the variables involved. And for anybody to be able to give you robust help, you could help us help you by posting a copy of your actual workbook, not just an image, putting that workbook on OneDrive or GoogleDrive, with a link pasted here that grants access to it.
