Forecasting

Hi, I need to create a financial model looking 4 years ahead that has several different variables, for example pay inflation increased by 5% in year 3, or one of the income streams increased by 2% in year 2.  They need to feed in to find out what is the impact of all variables on the bottom line. What is the best tool in excel to use? I keep going around in circles!

 Please help!

    Hi efn9171
Do you have an example or a scrubbed file of what you want to forecast? Is this essentially a P&L statement? I can help, but the best way to create a model depends on the amount of data you have.

Here are a few links that might be of some help to you in your plans.

Create a forecast in Excel for Windows

    Project values in a series

    Detailed sales forecast

There are many ways in Excel that could lead to a solution, such as PQ, Pivot, Tables, etc.

Of course you need the data or file with the corresponding data specifications and a lot of time to adapt the forecast to your needs....have fun with excel :).

Hope I was able to help you with this info.
