PeterBartholomew1 Nice! Lambdas are still not second nature to me. Perhaps I take a master class with you some time.
I wouldn't like to guess where one might get something that rates as a masterclass. For me, every solution is still a voyage of discovery, with a fair measure of trial and error!
For example, just to see whether it was possible, I wrote a minor variation of my last formula, which returns the content of any local variable selected by list order. The spinner also controls the arrow that steps over the formula to indicate the line being evaluated. What would be nice is to have something like this build into native Excel.
