I am sure its easier than I think, but I can't figure out how.
I have a main table (table 1) with data for multiple events. Some of those events we need to get permits for (say all the ones that are in San Francisco) and only some of the ones in Las Vegas (depending on the venue).
I would like to track the status of getting those permits along with additional data that is not on the main report, on another tab for each of the cities (table 2 and table 3). And then the status column only would also update back on the main table. Also, when the main table gets updated and new events added, ideally it would auto-populate the appropriate tabs with the new data as well when applicable.

You would help us help you by posting copies of the actual workbook(s) on OneDrive or GoogleDrive. Images are helpful, but nowhere near as much as the actual thing.
Just be sure to delete or anonymize any confidential or proprietary information first. Then paste a link here that grants access.

That link takes me to google, but it doesn't grant access. You need to create a different kind of link.

Mixing Input and Output on single sheets, especially when they're essentially the same kinds of lists, and unavoidably when you're expecting (miraculously) that each will update the other, just makes for trouble.
I would strongly suggest that you make Input (or "RawData") a sheet of its own, and do ALL input on that sheet. Then have either:
See the attached example.
