Excel Foruma to calculate down payment
Hi All,
It has been a while since I've done anything related to this in excel and Google is not being my best friend right now.
I have an excel spreadsheet that Column A that has the loan amount, and Row 1 has the percentage rates that is used as the down payment.
Now I know a loan of $250,000 with 20% down is $20,000, but when I put that in my spreadsheet as =A149003-AN1 comes up with $249,999.80.. so obviously that is wrong.
Can anyone help me with what I know is an easy problem, but I can't figure it out to save my life.
You appear to have entered
= Amount - PercentDown
rather than
= Amount * (1 - PercentDown)

PeterBartholomew1 That worked, Thank you!
I knew it was easy, and apparently my math was wrong to, 20% of 250,000 is 50,000... Shows how much I can think today.
