Evaluation of a text string as a function

Copper Contributor

Does there exist an Excel function that will evaluate a (syntactically correct) text string as a formula?  A simple example:

Let's say that I have the text string '=A5

Does there exist a way that I can get Excel to evaluate it as =A5, thus returning the value of the contents of cell A5?

Just found it...the INDIRECT function.

If I understand correctly about the translation, this could help you.

Example:

is J10 text with number "M12" then cell with formula "= RIGHT (J10,2)" only shows the "12".

If only the numbers are presented like that.

If the number first and then the text, then use the command LEFT instead of RIGHT.

If that's not what you wanted or what you can't use, please just ignore it.

I would be happy to know if I could help.
