Combining text from different rows without duplicating information
Hi, I'm using excel 2016 and want to combine text from different lines into one. I can do this using the CONCATENATE function, which combines the data in a different cell. But now I have two versions of the data which I don't need or want.
So in the example above, can I combine the text into a single cell and remove it from the following cells? Or do I need to cut and paste?
Thanks in advance.
You can do the following.
- Select the cell with the CONCATENATE formula (if you have a recent version of Excel, you might prefer TEXTJOIN).
- Copy the cell, then paste as values. This removes the formula but keeps the result.
- You can now clear the cells below.
