Update from Excel 2007 to Home Office 2024 No Subscription

I have just uninstalled my Office 2007 and installed Office 2024 and am just trying to get used to the new Word & Excel layouts.

With Excel 2007 I used to have a mini toolbar which I could custom but that doesn't seem available with 2024?

It was easier and took up less room with just small icons and had almost anything you needed on one tool bar.

Can someone confirm if it isn't available with Office 2024 in case I am missing something?

  • I'm not sure what mini toolbar you are referring to in 2007 and don't have 2024 (I have 365).  But there is a "Quick Access Toolbar" and you have the option to Customize it.  Below image shows the option window and if you look at the very top of the menu bar it shows Save, Undo, ReDo, Print Preview on the quick access toolbar.  Note that toolbar can also be configured to show Below Ribbon instead of above as it is set here:

in excel options you can select Quick Access Toolbar on the left.  Make sure the checkbox to "Show Quick Access Toolbar" is checked.

m_tarler many thanks for your post, that is the toolbar I was looking for.

I didn't see it at the very top of the ribbon bar.
