I have been trialing out assigned access for our front line workers and I have found a few applications, such as SentinelOne, that with each new version, it is installed to a folder that represents the version number. For Assigned Access, there is value in being able to use a wildcard in the allowed apps sections so the XML doesn't need to be updated for a new release.

Hey Adam, thanks for providing the insight, I wish I had a magical answer for you, but at the moment we don't have a wildcard option for the allowed apps, but it is something that we will add to out future planning to hopefully support.

When it comes to blocking applications in Kiosk Mode Multi User, we have received multiple "This app has been blocked by your system administrator" errors on start up. Sources claim that it is from background start up apps being blocked by app locker and we need to pin down what app it is and allow it through the kiosk profile. Is there any plans to fix that in the future?
- Steven_Hosking

We are currently investigating this, and hope to have a fix in the future, but can't commit to any timelines at this point in time.

StevenHoskingI have setup a few in our environment, mainly Multi-App, and I have not seen the Task Bar hide, we have manually been going in and checking that box as our kioskuser0. Can you confirm the <Taskbar ShowTaskbar="false" /> should be working in the XML as of today?
- Steven_Hosking

Make sure that your on Windows 11, Version 24H2, with the February cumulative updates installed and it should auto hide the taskbar.

Ok, Thank you. I have been mainly testing on 23H2. Great Session, very helpful to see the progression and where its headed. We have a lot of Kiosk Scenarios in our environment, so I have been testing and following these changes closely.

Steven Hoskinga lot of useful information for Microsoft tech community, nice presentation. Where did you find this (XML) PowerShell Script, is this part of an AppLocker policy (secPol) or is this somewhere in GitHub or a repository, would be awesome to try on my own ? Hopefully i didn't miss that part in your Live Demo😀 i'd like to try it in my test environment

You can find the PowerShell example script from Microsoft documentation: Quickstart: configure a restricted user experience with Assigned Access | Microsoft Learn. Select PowerShell tab under: Configure a restricted user experience.
