Join us for a special Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) live video stream across four Microsoft content collaboration products: SharePoint, OneDrive, Lists, and Stream! Our product teams will be answering your questions about future roadmap and recent innovation – and offering insights on what to expect in the coming months.
Each team will present five minutes of content to catch you up on the highlights, and to spark what questions you might ask, and then have 10-15 minutes to take your questions. Post your questions at any time – starting your question with the product name to help us navigate it to the right experts; example: “SharePoint: How will Copilot help me create pages and news in the future?”
This is a great opportunity to get answers to any questions you may have from recent Microsoft 365 Conference (May 2-4, 2023) disclosures: Review Jeff Teper’s May 2nd (5/2) blog post.

- AGoneauBrass ContributorWe have a very elaborate global navigation menu on our home site. When changes are needed, it is frustrating that any change you make will be seen by all immediately. It would be great if you could provide a "save as draft" option on the edit navigation screen.
- JenVHOBrass ContributorOneDrive / SPO - any option to warn or prevent people before deleting SPO items that are shortcuts in their OneDrive - prompting them to remove the shortcut not delete the source
- Katy ErlandsonFormer EmployeeYes, this is coming this summer
- David_SwensonIron ContributorWhen is Fluid design UI revamp coming to the SharePoint Mobile app for Android & iOS?
- kychappleCopper ContributorAre there any plans to enhance automated tagging of documents in SharePoint? There are a number of expensive and relatively complex third-party tools in this space, but looking for some out of the box basic auto-tagging of documents based on content of the document, etc.
- atrain204Iron ContributorWill we get the ability to move/copy pages between sites soon? We get asked this a lot from our clients
- suyog_gadgil
Microsoft
As you are are aware this is a complex problem because a page is actually not a standalone entity but is a collection of everything on the page. The copy/move is currently under consideration. We dont have a concrete date yet, but we will plan to expose the API first and then follow up with UX.- atrain204Iron Contributor
What are the odds that Co-Pilot would be able to do this?
- jrbptIron ContributorSharePoint: Will there ever be a "Table of Contents" web part that works like the function in Word to automatically generate a Table of Contents that uses the various Headers within the page?
- Dave Cohen (US)
Microsoft
Hi Jamie - I'll be as transparent with this as I can. We actually have a table of contents web part internally that we've built and have tested. Unfortunately, it's not meeting our standards for performance and reliability. We've paused development on this for the moment as we assess the cost to release at the standards we hold all page capabilities to. I can't share more than that, but we're deeply interested in the demand for this functionality.- jrbptIron Contributor
Understood, but for what it's worth pretty much anything automated would be better than the way we currently have to manually keep these updated, including remembering to update it when any Header text changes at all (as this changes the link that points to the #section). Even something that isn't actually automatic but instead has a "refresh TOC" button (as in Word) would be suuuuuper useful!
- David_SwensonIron ContributorSPO Migration manager cannot be used for migrating SPO sites in one Microsoft 365 tenant to another tenant. This means we have to purchase a third party tool for M365 to M365 mergers and acquisitions. Move to and copy to can't be used between M365 tenants
- KasperLarsenIron ContributorMS can't eat their partners lunch too often, I guess it is very much on purpose.
- JenVHOBrass ContributorWill SPO workflows be enhanced soon, such as changing approvers not yet with a task? We have struggled to replicate this experience from on-prem in power automate.
- gavinarblasterBrass ContributorFor SharePoint quick link web parts, we found that it would be really helpful to have a toggle for open link in new tab.
- Cathy_DewFormer EmployeeThank you for this feedback, Gavin. This is not something we currently have planned, but we will make sure to add this into our requested feature list.
- KasperLarsenIron ContributorOne workaround to the new tab issue could be to using a URL shortner, like bitly or similar. This will make internal link appear as external links, and as I remember it, external links will open in a new tab. Ugly solution, but it will work in a pinch
- AndreeSBrass ContributorSharePoint Online: Do you plan to improve the move/copy-To dialog in this way, that the user is able to browse better target websites instead of only followed/recent websites right now?
- suyog_gadgil
Microsoft
Thanks a lot for the feedback André! Can you help us understand your scenario a little more. What is your expectation from the dialog and what sites are missing that you would like to see? There can be 1000s of sites in a tenant so would love your feedback on how you think about choosing a particular site.- Kelly_LaForest_CDWBrass ContributorSuyog, we frequently see people who are trying to move or copy files to a new SharePoint site or a lesser-used SharePoint site and they want the ability to: 1. Use a search bar to search for a site by keyword 2. An alphabetical list of sites they have access to Having to go back to the site to follow it and wait for it to appear in the list is a drag. The "Pin to Quick access" is super helpful and is how I teach them to do it when they don't see a site, but having to go back to the site they want in a different browser window to pin it causes frustrations. They don't want always to have the site pinned all the time when the move is done on a monthly or quarterly cadence.
