Microsoft Teams Phone AMA
Event details
We are very excited to announce a Microsoft Teams ‘Ask Microsoft Anything’ (AMA) specific to Teams Phone!
The AMA will take place on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT in the comment section below.
An AMA is a live online event similar to a “YamJam” on Yammer or an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit. This AMA gives you the opportunity to connect with members of the product engineering team who will be on hand to answer your questions and listen to feedback.

Thanks for joining us for this Microsoft Teams AMA for Teams Phone! We'll be posting a summary of the questions and answers here soon. - shyam2021Copper ContributorWill you bring call pickup group that we used to have in skype? We would pickup a call by just dialing a code.
- roman_frillarteIron Contributor
Hi Shyamsundar, we don't have this feature, but a great place to suggest as well as vote/comment on features is at the Feedback Portal, select "Calling" in the Categories: Microsoft Teams · Community
Just for reference and for other folks reading your question, here's the relevant documentation on these features:
Call sharing and group call pickup - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Docs
Call forwarding, call groups, and simultaneous ring in Teams (microsoft.com)
- NoNotMeIron ContributorWhen a user is part of a call queue, there is an option "Choose whether or not to receive calls for the following queues." The only options are Opt-In or Opt-Out. It would be great if the user had additional options, i.e. "Opt-In, Notification Only (no-ring)" or something like this.
- roman_frillarteIron Contributor
Hi John, we don't have this option currently, although you might try temporarily turning off your ring tone for incoming calls in Settings | Notifications. If that's not what you're trying to do, then you can suggest it at the Teams Feedback Portal under the Category "Calling". Thanks!
- LakGautamCopper ContributorWhen a call comes through an Auto Attendant or Call Queue, I am not able to see the Caller ID of the person calling. What is the expected behaviour? Why I am not able to see the Caller ID of the person calling?
- Roy Kuntz
Microsoft
Hi LakGautam - the Caller ID should be passed in AA and CQ scenarios. This is oftentimes triggered by SBC configuration and would suggest opening a trouble ticket to investigate this.
- shyam2021Copper ContributorDo you know if there are current known issues with teams phone that have the remote signin code not showing anymore?
- Sean_Gilmour_MSFT
Microsoft
Hi there - we aren't seeing any issues currently with remote signin code. If you are seeing issues you can report a problem via the device or open a ticket with support. Thanks, Sean

Working in the Teams admin center, especially Voice objects, is very frustrating. The user experience and functionality of the Teams admin center behaves very differently from other Microsoft admin centers. Where could I go to ask for specific improvements regarding navigation, searching, list boxes, dropdown boxes, etc.?
- NoNotMeIron ContributorI added some edited screenshots, not sure if this makes sense with the redacted information or not.
- roman_frillarteIron ContributorHi John, I don't see screenshots. Was that re this thread or maybe you were commenting on some other topic? Sorry for not getting your meaning there.
- roman_frillarteIron ContributorHi John, the place to recommend such improvements as well as vote/comment on others' ideas is the Teams Feedback Portal under the "IT Pro" category. Here's the link, and then check off "IT Pro" under Categories! https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/ad198462-1c1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472

- LakGautamCopper ContributorHow do we ensure we limit or block Spam/Prank calls made to the Teams phone (number)? I do not want to block the spam number, however, would like to remove them completely at the Admin level? Is this possible?
- Sean_Gilmour_MSFT
Microsoft
Hey there, We're constantly looking at ways to help manage spam calls both at the admin and the end user level. While we don't yet allow for you to block all calls our system believes might be spam, we do allow for number ranges and individual numbers to be blocked by admins. Details are here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/block-inbound-calls Thanks, Sean- LakGautamCopper ContributorIs this in the roadmap or any additional detail you could give? Thanks
- Jeff GolasCopper ContributorI haven't messed with them yet, but is it possible to configure Common Area phones with a SIP backup incase Teams goes down?
- Connie Welsh
Microsoft
Hi there Jeff! Just need a bit more clarity here, are you asking specifically about phone dual registration?- Jeff GolasCopper ContributorYes, or some other backup plan. I believe there's a backup solution in direct routing (which is what we use), but our SBC currently runs on Linux and believe the feature is only available on WIndows based SBCs, which really doesn't work for us.
- oh_robotCopper ContributorWhat about the ability to sign in to Microsoft Teams with more than one Enterprise account? You can add a personal account, but for those of us that are consultants and work across many companies that use Teams, it is an incredible pain to continually have to sign in and out of Teams to conduct meetings.

Hi again Chris: we found this item from feedback forum that has the most recent status: https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/d256e0f6-262e-ec11-b6e6-00224827bbc2
- LakGautamCopper ContributorI have a similar problem, where I am using a couple of test accounts to sign into Teams. Until last week I was able to toggle between these accounts in my Teams App. Since the beginning of this week having issues to toggle when it goes into this infinite loop. Is this normal behaviour?
- Therese_SolimenoModerator
Hi Chris - since this particular AMA is focused on Phones/Calling, we don't have members of the engineering staff here to answer your question. But we will try to get an answer and respond to your question as soon as possible. Do you have any questions about Phones/Calling?

Do you know if Intune is now coming to the Teams CAP (common area phone) license and if so when it would be coming to UK tenants?
- DanielaChocron
Microsoft
Hi Michael - this month, we are enhancing the Common Area Phone offering to serve a wider variety of scenarios for customers without increasing the price. Security, endpoint management, and cloud-based voicemail features will be available through the following service plans added to the Common Area Phone license:
- Azure Active Directory Premium Plan 1
- Microsoft Intune
- Exchange Online Plan 2
These updates will be available in the UK. Additional information on Common Area Phone enhancements is available here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/highlights-from-enterprise-connect-2022-new-microsoft-teams/ba-p/3263176
