- Exchange is no more present in the "Migration" option in the M365 Admin Center, why is that and is it planned to return?
- amishaBhatiaFormer EmployeeHi Andres, we do still have the options to migrate email from Exchange Server and IMAP resources. Is there something else specifically you are looking for?
- MesutOzcanCopper ContributorIt is in 365,
- 😮 Looks like its back, never mind
- amishaBhatiaFormer EmployeePerfect!
- LucyLiuBrass ContributorIs there a good way to migrate or archive the OneDrive for Business after an employee leaves the organization so we can give other user access to the files?

Hi, yes, we cover that in this article: Step 4 - Give another employee access to OneDrive and Outlook data - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Docs.
If you want to check out the rest of the topics about removing a user, see Remove a former employee - Overview - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Docs. It lists other articles that will help you remove the former employee from your organization.- LucyLiuBrass ContributorThank you, Kweku. When we tried to "grant access to another user to access a former employee's OneDrive", the new user profile can't be saved as the Site collection administrators. Is there any setting we didn't turn on that feature?
- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorWhen M365 has a global outage, admins are supposed to access the M365 admin center for these incidents. However, oftentimes, the M365 admin center itself is offline! I have to go to downdetector or MSFT Twitter to find out (several hours later) that there is an outage affecting customers. Is there an option to register a work cell phone that Microsoft can send M365 service downtime alerts in regions?
- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorSeveral vendors already have the option of sending alerts to authorized admin users if their services are down. Wondering why Microsoft is not providing an out of band notification to M365 admins.
- Paolo CiccuFormer EmployeeHi Emy, this is something that we are currently working on to provide a better experience for when the M365 Admin Center is offline. Today when there is a major outage to the Admin Center you can go to the https://status.office.com page and we will have the latest up to date information about the outage here. With in the next quarter we are looking to providing notifications for this status page which gets updated when the Admin Center is inaccessible. As for alerts on specific services you can sign up for email notifications within the Admin Center under the 'Preferences' option in the Service Health page. We do not have a way to specific alerts to certain regions just yet, and currently notifications are sent out if there is an incident or advisory that is currently posted to your organization.
- amishaBhatiaFormer EmployeeHi All - I recently did a session at Microsoft Ignite on Microsoft 365 Management & Administration. One of the questions that I got during the session was the following: "Can password admins still be enforced to use the password complexity/policies that the main admin has set? If they somehow need to override such policies, is it possible?" To answer that question - For the first part - Yes, the password policies that the Global Admin has set applies to all admin roles so a Password Admin would fall into scope. For the second part - Currently, a Password Admin cannot override the password policies that the Global Admin has set for users in their org.
- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorIs there a way to assign only relevant M365 updates to admins who manage certain admin centers in M365? For example, if there are Intune or Teams admins in a tenant, I would like to have the ability to filter only Intune or Teams related service alerts and product updates for these admins. There is currently a way to filter the content, but they have to do these manually. Thanks!
- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorFor example, if an Intune admin logs in to the admin portal - only Intune related service alerts, and product updates will be shown in the message center automatically (no need for this admin to filter the message center for Intune related info).
- Paolo CiccuFormer EmployeeHi Emy, thank you for your question. Each admin can customize which service alerts and products update they see in the message center by going to the preferences menu and selecting the services they are interested in seeing under the 'Custom View' and 'Email' Tabs. In your example, the Intune admin would go to the message center, select preferences, then uncheck all the services listed except for Intune. These preferences will be saved and that admin will now only see product updates for the services selected.
- DaveWeinerCopper ContributorDoes the product team that owns the Admin Center have a specific blog where they publish and discuss new updates?
- DaveWeinerCopper ContributorThe first link is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. It would be awesome if you could post an announcement on Twitter when there are updates to that Docs article. Maybe you already do and I have missed them. I'll keep my eyes open. Keep up the great work!

Hi David, here's the link to the What's new in the Admin center topic: https://docs.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/admin/whats-new-in-preview?view=o365-worldwide. You can also check out the Nov 2021 Ignite blog here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-365-admin-management-ignite-2021/ba-p/2866321.
- ZakVargoCopper ContributorIs there a timeline for when the new admin center experience will become feature complete compared to the old experience? Things like retention tags still require you to switch to the old experience to manage through the GUI
- Timothy HeeneyFormer EmployeeHello Zakuriah, Can you confirm that you are talking about the Exchange admin center? I just want to be sure that I follow-up with the right team.
- ZakVargoCopper Contributorhey there! yes, I can confirm i'm talking about the exchange admin center. sorry about that. Thanks, Zak
- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorWhat is the difference between accessing azure from M365 admin versus accessing azure from portal.azure.com? Is one access better than the other?
- Ben Appleby
Microsoft
Hi Emy, I presume by "azure" you're referring to Azure AD Admin Center (linked in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center nav tree) vs going to portal.azure.com direct and using the AD blades? If so, then, the difference is purely that Azure AD Admin Center is a dedicated link for the AD components inside of Azure. If so, it's an optimization for Microsoft 365 admins so that they can accessed AD focused experience. Functionally, you can use either path to the UI. Thanks Ben- EmyLoanzonIron ContributorYes, I am referring to the Azure Admin Center. Thanks, Ben!
