Microsoft Word Dark Mode Issue

Hello all, I've recently run into a weird issue with Word after having to reset my PC due to a completely different issue. The problem is that when I turn on dark mode, it applies it like normal besides the document itself, which remains white. I know that there's a setting that you can switch this with under the 'View' tab, but it doesn't show up for me at all. I have tried activating Office Insider and I also tried resetting Word's settings to default but nothing has worked thus far. Does anyone know of a potential fix for this issue?
