Markup Panel appearing with every word document. Comments column now in some weird thing.

Resolved. Turns out I am a moron.
I had unchecked "Enable Modern Comments" at the end of my previous session, so that when it restarted it changed everything.(In my trouble-shooting, I thought I had tried checking this and restarting, but I guess I hadn't.)
Anyway, everything back to normal.
Clarifying: Unchecking "Enable Modern Comments" is what fixed this for you?
No, sorry. I knew I was not making this clear.
Unchecking it CAUSED the problem, but it took me forever to figure this out.
Checking it AND restarting WORD solved it.
Sorry for any confusion.
