How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

- JB_rocksCopper ContributorWhy would you take the away from us in Windows 11. BRING IT BACK ASAP.
- ekalchevBrass ContributorHow much I have to wait for this?
- QuyNguyenCopper ContributorThis is one of the most stupid changes in Windows 11. I am with an ultrawide screen, running multitask, multi-tabs, and now I have to movemy mouse over a large area, and need an addition click to find my thing. I cannot believe Windows can make such change like this and they need to immediately fire off the UX designer.
- jarciagaCopper ContributorI really hope Microsoft resolves this. This is one of the main reasons my company won't upgrade to Windows 11 because of how unproductive it is to not see all the taskbars. We create software at my company and every engineer refuses to use Windows 11 because of it. Not only that, everyone in other departments doesn't want to use Windows 11 for that reason and others.
Since, as a company, we don't want to switch to Windows 11 because of these shortfalls, we also don't give our customers, who we provide laptops for the Xray machines we build, Windows 11 computers because they have trouble using multiple applications are one time efficiently with these condensed/combined taskbars.
Microsoft, please change this ASAP.- WillySkjIron ContributorWon't bee using Windows 11 as long as combined is forced. This OS is not for PC as long as this is the case - at least for me. Using (after degrading) Windows 10 until something better is released.
- ChaaseCopper ContributorWhat's killing me the most on my new laptop that came with it is Outlook, I have multiple windows open of emails I refer between and it is a pain in the A$$ going between them.

StarLord2220 thanks, that's a known crutch, however wasn't able to make ExplorerPatcher to work on the ARM build
- stringemptyCopper ContributorI can't wrap my mind around it, the feature already has been there, why the heck it was removed? It's not a extraordinary new feature, it is basically essential one. It's like removing toilet circle from the bowl, great move, great success

Just bought a new laptop with Win 11 and this is annoying the hell out of me having stacked icons in the task bar.
Microsoft, give us the ability to choose.
- CNeedsTextOnTaskbarCopper ContributorHow has it been years and there isnt even an official response to such a severe cut in productivity.
Absolutely infuriating. KDE looking kinda nice right now. - Deleted

I have good information The Microsoft team is working on improving the taskbar in the Insider Program, this is an excerpt from the published Blog:
"
Taskbar Overflow
We’re reintroducing taskbar overflow, with a newly designed experience for Windows 11. This taskbar experience has been thoughtfully crafted to offer you a more productive switching and launching experience when space is constrained. Your taskbar will automatically transition into this new overflow state when it has hit its maximum capacity. In this state, taskbar will offer an entry point to an overflow menu that allows you to view all your overflowed apps in one space. "- MNNick183Brass ContributorThis is the dumbest thing I've read in a long time!!!!! This does absolutely nothing to address the 36 PAGES of complaints! I don't see a feasible way to fill the taskbar in its current useless state so this solves a problem that will never occur! Get your resources back to reinstating the Never Combine Taskbar option! Talk to anyone who actually does work on their computer and they can quite quickly explain to you how the new taskbar in counter productive and extremely hard to work with!

Hi MNNick183
"This is the dumbest thing I've read in a long time!!!!!"
Perhaps!
But it looks like there won't be any major improvements in this regard!
Previously, there were no ideas for any change, so the community should be informed.
- CassRTIron ContributorPretty laughable since this overflow feature is something that is in Windows 10.
- CassRTIron ContributorI initially just laughed because the overflow feature is in Win 10, but then I read the blog again. What the H does this mean: "taskbar will offer an entry point to an overflow menu that allows you to view all your overflowed apps in one space. " It sounds like more mouse clicking to me. So, you then need to click on the "entry point" to get to another space to view your overflow?? Just add another line, like the taskbar does in Win 10. Really, I don't want another entry point to another space that I will have to open up. The MS designers have really run out of ideas and are just coming up with more steps to get the same amount of work done!
- asturcon3Copper ContributorNo one asked here for an overflow area. We have ultrawide desktops where it is absolutely imposible to fill the taskbar width. What I want back is the ability to fill that area, ie ungrouping apps, making their titles visible and if possible making icons next to the clock enabled by default.
Some like, design based on landscape mode users.
- giongto500Copper ContributorThis change is just stupid. It's July 2022 now and the ungroup options isn't back yet. It's costing users much more time to switch windows when they're grouped in taskbar.
