How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Unfortunately, I upgraded to Windows 11.
Discovered the "never combine taskbar buttons" problem.
I therefore immediately downgraded to Windows 10, but now there is a problem with Windows Update. So this has become a security issue. Thanks to Microsoft for not listening to its customers and users. In any case, I will not use windows 11 until "never combine taskbar buttons" is in place. If it is not fixed before support for Windows 10 ends, I will have to find another solution.- CassRTAug 02, 2022Iron Contributor
WillySkj I read your message and initially thought it was my message written several months ago! I'm with you as far as not changing from Win 10. However, I have had problems with my computer's response ever since the mid-July update. I installed and uninstalled in October? Maybe September? I can't remember and didn't have any problems with my computer until mid-July. I even "reset” my computer which kept my documents and photos, but now I'm have to add printer drivers, games (not significant), other not OS applications including MS Office.

The windows update issue seem to be ok now.
Installed windows 11 on virtualbox and tryed:
https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher
This gives back "not combine" and tekst descripton as in windows 10 taskbar. To bad others have to fix "Microsoft bugs" (it has to be a bug they still havent fixed - since so many request it).
Now I am unsure if windows 11 gives me anything better than win10?
Why should I upgrade and also having to install this fix - to make this simple thing work?
Seems win10 is ok anyway.
