How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

I have good information The Microsoft team is working on improving the taskbar in the Insider Program, this is an excerpt from the published Blog:
"
Taskbar Overflow
We’re reintroducing taskbar overflow, with a newly designed experience for Windows 11. This taskbar experience has been thoughtfully crafted to offer you a more productive switching and launching experience when space is constrained. Your taskbar will automatically transition into this new overflow state when it has hit its maximum capacity. In this state, taskbar will offer an entry point to an overflow menu that allows you to view all your overflowed apps in one space. "

What the H does this mean: "taskbar will offer an entry point to an overflow menu that allows you to view all your overflowed apps in one space. " It sounds like more mouse clicking to me. So, you then need to click on the "entry point" to get to another space to view your overflow?? Just add another line, like the taskbar does in Win 10. Really, I don't want another entry point to another space that I will have to open up. The MS designers have really run out of ideas and are just coming up with more steps to get the same amount of work done!

Unfortunately, I upgraded to Windows 11.
Discovered the "never combine taskbar buttons" problem.
I therefore immediately downgraded to Windows 10, but now there is a problem with Windows Update. So this has become a security issue. Thanks to Microsoft for not listening to its customers and users. In any case, I will not use windows 11 until "never combine taskbar buttons" is in place. If it is not fixed before support for Windows 10 ends, I will have to find another solution.- CassRTAug 02, 2022Iron Contributor
WillySkj I read your message and initially thought it was my message written several months ago! I'm with you as far as not changing from Win 10. However, I have had problems with my computer's response ever since the mid-July update. I installed and uninstalled in October? Maybe September? I can't remember and didn't have any problems with my computer until mid-July. I even "reset” my computer which kept my documents and photos, but now I'm have to add printer drivers, games (not significant), other not OS applications including MS Office.
