How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

- VishmayBrass ContributorWe know explorer patcher works but we want native support for this facility in existing win 11 taskbar, the patch rolls out whole taskbar,
please don't discourage this requirement!- StevenO59Iron ContributorVishmay, you are 100% right - our solution should NOT be to find workarounds to a bad change to the software. I am a computer user, not an operating system expert who wants to mess with the operating system to get the computer to do what I want. This needs to be fixed by Microsoft.
- knick95Iron ContributorI totally agree, but until MS fixes it I can have all the properties of the good old Win 10 taskbar (including the "never combine" feature) with the use of Explorer Patcher.

Yes, add me to the list of people who hate having the taskbar icons combined. So much more productive to have them separated. Please bring that option back.
- HipmuncBrass ContributorMicrosoft: this is not an optional feature for a productive operating system. Please bring this back before Win 11 is widely considered another ME, Vista, or 8.
- mtrookCopper ContributorI have never rolled back an operating system as quickly as I did this one. Windows 11 is basically a minor aesthetic upgrade and a massive functionality downgrade. From a productivity/usability stand point "Never combine" is absolutely essential. Having to hack in this option with third party apps or reg edits is insane. I don't how anyone could use this version of the OS as it currently stands. This version literally adds nothing of value and removes key functionality options from Windows 10. Seriously, who upgrades for aesthetics?

- michrwarnBrass ContributorApparently this has been mentioned a few times throughout this post, but who wants to read all 200+ comments? So, hopefully this will be seen by a few. This works https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher, so it is the perfect temporary solution until Microsoft does something different.

That application is utter junk.
The design is bad, it doesn't follow the windows themes, and it looks like a Windows XP skin applied over Windows 11.
- michrwarnBrass Contributor
Deleted Well, I guess that is your opinion. To me, it looks and functions exactly the same. It allows me un-group the icons, and that is what I wanted.
- F-BthCopper ContributorIt is super anoying to find the right window when it's grouped together with so many others.
It's so unproductive!
Who thought that this would be an improvement?
Bring back the option to never combine the buttons in the bar! - michrwarnBrass Contributorthis works - https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher
- Ram_N1490Copper ContributorWho the heck took this decision to remove this option? Mostly that person do not know anything about productivity and mostly he is useless to organization. Microsoft better fire him and hire a better UI/UX expert.
