How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

You can't drag the taskbar to another side, like left, right or top. Taskbar is stricktly locked to bottom.
Unless you install the Explorer Patcher mentioned earlier. I have that and now I have an option to unlock the taskbar and drag them to other sides of the screen. - tlhintoqIron ContributorBetween this, and that removal of animations when you switch virtual desktops this feels like a move back 5 years.

I'll just add myself to the list of people who find it extremely annoying that functions are being hidden behind multiple layers and making Windows considerably less productive.
Instead of heading straight to the window I want on the taskbar, or being able to see how many I have open instantly, I've got to go down to the bottom and click/hover over the item, and try to work out which one I want.
I always want to be able to see all windows that I have open, at a glance (with no further interaction required), and go directly to the one that I want.
The tray is now nearly as annoying as I keep having to select individual items to not hide. Every time something new is installed/run. Instead of just telling it not to hide anything.
However it's the combining of windows into a single pin that the most annoying and I wish I'd not paid for Windows 11 and just bought a copy of Windows 10.

Unfortunately without this function windows 11 are completely unusable for me. I spend half of my time searching for my tasks, mails, browser windows etc. Just horrible idea and now i have to search how to revert back to win10.

Windows 11 is pretty disappointing. I was forced to buy a new Surface to upgrade to Windows 11 as my current processor wasn't up to "spec". Honestly, I wish I hadn't. Probably will return the new Surface as that is underwhelming, and Windows 11 makes everything so much harder compared to Windows 10. It is sad as the MSFT UX team is desperate to be like Apple and sacrificed productivity for aesthetics.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE UNGROUP BY OPTION!!
- Ile83Copper ContributorPlease bring back the never combine taskbar option. No all my browsers are in same edge button and it's a mess to find anything when I have 3 browsers open with 60+ tabs.

please bring back the uncombine feature not just for personal use but business use it would be better.
- Samir_TartirCopper ContributorJust to voice in my displeasure with this weird omission: Please add this option back.
- Kevin GjerstadCopper ContributorThe combined taskbar is really a bummer from a usability perspective. You can't see how many windows you have open at a glance, must click into and drag your mouse to switch to another app, etc. I don't care about slightly improved aesthetics - I need productivity and usability first and foremost. So bring back the option to turn off the combine feature please.
