How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

- Ubi77Copper ContributorPleas add this feature back. Im really less productive. This might be nice for dummy user like my grandparents but as a user working the whole day with it with a lot of different programs and multiple instances it slows me down a lot. It is OK for me if you use this as default setting but please let the advanced users still change this settings. I am a programmer by my self and usually it should be the goal to make things, which a user has to do multiple times, as easy and fast as possible.
- Sammy2205Copper ContributorGods yes, I want to be able to ungroup taskbar buttons! It's driving me nuts and I'm *this* close to cracking it and going back to Windows 10
- rafael_esthCopper ContributorThis fuction is almost mandatory for high productivity multi windows workflows, I hope Microsoft brings this feature back as soon as possible.

Microsoft, urgently bring back never combine and drag&drop option. It's not possible to work without this option.

This problems requires a fix from Microsoft, Windows 11 is supposed to be an upgrade, not a downgrade!
Restoring the option to "never group windows in taskbar" is a must, whoever thought of removing it did a HUGE disservice to all Windows users!!!!!!! Please fix this ASAP, there are already private softwares selling solutions to this, meanwhile Microsoft should actively fix this instead. - psychedelicuSteel ContributorThis is the worst windows, ever. Few months since they released and still we can't Drag & Drop. Going back to linux.
- AmaanTechCopper ContributorYes, Please bring back never combine option. It's not possible to multitask without this option
- akinpakinCopper ContributorPlease bring back never combine option. It's not possible to multitask without this option
- chemstudentBrass ContributorSeriously, removing customization for the taskbar is not only stupid and bad for productivity - it also compromises accessibility. I’m autistic and ADHD - legit just had a meltdown over this feature not being there because it makes my computer unworkable. Customization for workflow isn’t just about productivity, it’s about general accessibility. You can leave it simple as a default but this is genuinely awful. Early in the thread it was said this would change in an update but it’s been almost 2 months since then. Microsoft, fix this ASAP bc this is the worst move since windows 8. Will switch to apple over this

chemstudent Yes great. Windows just copied macOS. I hate macOS due to less productivity.
- chemstudentBrass ContributorWhen I was looking for a solution to it for windows 11, I found a taskbar program?app? thing that specifically works with macOS but you can customize it a lot more too - it’s called ubar and given the intuitive integration of so many apps across phone/tablet/computer, I’m starting to consider apple as an option. A computational chem mentor uses mac so clearly it’s good enough for that
- adamgbgCopper ContributorThe 'Never combine' feature is a must have for me. I had to roll back to W10.
