Windows 10 automatically downgrade from Enterprise to Pro
Windows 10 automatically downgrade from Enterprise to Pro. All users in the company are affected. E3 licenses are assigned. Can somebody help?
- Yup, I think so. Re-sign in with Azure AD credentials associated with a Windows 10 Enterprise E3 license.

- BishBoshBishCopper ContributorIm also seeing this in my Tenancy. We connect to 2 Tenancies, both supply Licencing to there users. I have a feeling this might be why we are seeing random downgrades to Pro.. Its REALLY annoying.
To fix this, im having to go to Start-Settings-Accounts-Accesswork or school, Then remove the other Tenancy from the list. REBOOT. The the Windows Licence returns to Enterprise.
Im going to raise a ticket with MS to see if there is some log somewhere that can tell me What/Why this is changing because at the minute I have no idea..
Bish- PhilPaxCopper ContributorWhat was the response from MS on this? They are still looking into this issue for us and i am pretty sure this is also causing issues for users signing into various MS products like Office suite for licensing, one drive, or 365 mailbox authentication. All fail
Pretty sure these two issues are related and that for some reason windows/application is not matching the user logged into the system as the user in Azure AD. DSREGCMD /status shows both computer and user are in Azure AD assuming i do not elevate to Admin with UAC as our admin accounts are not synced to Azure.
Hoping they gave you a reason why it was happening and i can point our MS rep in that direction if not just solve it myself as is oft the case when opening tickets with MS.
- Hello,
Try using Enterprise edition generic key to revert back to Enterprise edition:

It should automatically activated then, as it was earlier on Enterprise edition.
Hope this helps!

I added the Product key and the edition was changed, but the following error message appears:
We can’t activate Windows on this device because you don’t have a valid digital license or product key. If you think you do have a valid license or key, select Troubleshoot below. Error code 0xc004c003.- Retry inserting the original Enterprise edition unique product key/or license, see if it helps.
