Windows Refuses to Power Off

Hello everyone,

I recently encountered an issue with my PC when I attempted to shut it down yesterday. Instead of shutting down properly, it got stuck in a loop.

Restarting the computer works without any issues.

However, when I try to shut down Windows through the menu, the screen goes black with a shutting down message, but then it takes me back to the login screen. I've repeated this process several times and still face the same outcome.

I had to resort to using the 'shutdown /s /f /t 0' command in the "run" dialog to successfully shut down my PC.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

I ensure that my Windows system is kept up to date.

Thank you.

Force shutdown, then check Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do to ensure the configuration is correct, and update the motherboard BIOS/chipset driver.
