Windows Media Player and Windows File Explorer not reading audio metadata.
Title. I have embedded metadata in my audio files using Mp3tag, but Windows Media Player and File Explorer do not read it. I have already checked file integrity. The metadata is read by numerous other programs.
- Solved. OGG, WAV, and AIFF file metadata is not read. FLAC files with large embedded images end up breaking as well, I had to use metaflac to remove the padding and change the image to a smaller one.
- LaikeddoszCopper ContributorIt seems the information added by mp3tag not recognized by Windows Media Player. Please try to do it with another app and see if it is working.
- Ruskin2420Copper ContributorWindows Media Player and File Explorer may not be set up to read metadata automatically. In Windows Media Player, you can go to "Options" -> "Library" -> "Retrieve additional information from the internet" and make sure "Retrieve additional information from the internet" and "Add local media files to the library when played" are checked. In File Explorer, you can right-click on a music file and select "Properties" -> "Details" and make sure the metadata is displayed.
