Windows Explorer This PC Very Slow

When I'm in windows explorer looking for files and folders it runs normal but when I click on This PC the screen goes blank and if I click in the windows it shows Not Responding. After a minute or two it will open and show my drives but on the top left corner there is a spinning circle next to the words This PC. How can I get this to work properly? I have repaired indexing, turned indexing off and cleared explorer history and nothing helps. Also, I tried sfc /scannow and disk repair and there were no errors found

Thanks,

Dennis

Thanks for the replies. I have not had time (with the holidays) to go over what you all suggested but I noticed yesterday for some reason its working fine now and I did nothing. Strange.

Windows Explorer running slow in 'This PC' can be due to many factors like too many startup programs, outdated drivers, or a cluttered system. Try disabling unnecessary startup items, updating drivers, clearing temporary files, and optimizing storage drives to improve speed.

Try to clear file explorer history.

Open File Explorer. Go to the View tab, then select Options. In the Folder Options window, under the General tab, click on Clear next to Clear File Explorer history.
