Windows Explorer preview pane not showing PDF previews
I have raised this issue with Adobe on their forum. I am unable to view previews of adobe PDF documents in the preview pane in Windows Explorer on my computer (i.e. local drive or network drive) ...
Yeah, that happens sometimes when the PDF preview handler breaks. Try this:
1️⃣ Open Adobe Reader > Edit > Preferences > General, check “Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer.”
2️⃣ Then run regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll and regsvr32 shmedia.dll from CMD (Admin) to refresh preview handlers.
3️⃣ Finally, restart Explorer — if it still fails, reinstall or repair Adobe Acrobat Reader DC; that usually fixes it.
