Windows 11's Absurd Hibernation Timer Recommendations

My Windows 11 power settings recommend a hibernate timer of over 596,000 hours equivalent to ~70 years. My battery can’t possibly last that long.

Select your current plan and click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings.

  • Hi DanielDavis, that sounds like a bad displayed value or a power-plan calculation bug rather than a real recommendation. I would reset the active power plan to defaults, then check the actual configured values with powercfg /q. If the huge value remains, report it through Feedback Hub with the Windows build number.
