Windows 11 Version 24H2 Bugs

I just installed Windows 11 24H2 and after just 5 minutes of normal using I already found lots of bugs.

The taskbar would randomly disappear and only reappear by pressing the Windows button or opening the Windows Menu via taskbar on second monitor.

Some icons on the taskbar would randomly become tiny (like the desktop switch icon or the magnifying glass) and would become normal again once you hover over them.

Worst of all:

The sound quality suddenly was terrible and could only brought back to normal by installing a BIOS update.

There were some other bugs aswell that I already forgot about.

Yeah.

Pls fix that, Microsoft.

  • It should help to upgrade your drivers for Chipset (AMD / Intel) to the lastest including GPU drivers. These issues are not the same for everyone.

If this does not help Windows key + F file it as feedback with repro steps for taskbar.

What's the function of windows insider program if the public releasing windows still has many bugs up until now?

    • Hi Jooze, I am happy to explain and add my two cents. Being a Windows Insider for 10 years.

      1. The programs size is small. You must understand there are 1,5 billion Windows 10/11 devices out there, some OEM some custom-built hardware.

There are millions of HW combinations and drivers and most of all not everyone does case for driver, firmware, or BIOS updates. making even more millions of combinations even on SAME hardware.

      2. Then there are different approaches to the program. Some run it in VMs, which gives not much but exploring UX and features and repro bugs. Some run it on their "daily drivers".

      3. Some are just using it as a side hustle and some are seriously active providing actionable and quality feedback.

      4. Insiders are split into up to three channels, I would guess the fewest are in release preview which means testing what's coming next before release.

      5. Within these 3 channels a lot of A/B / wavebase testing causing another fragmentation within the program, so results are not necessarily the same for everyone.

I have heard that 24H2 has high "safeguard holds" this time.

It is the first Windows release sind W10 1903 that requires a full upgrade where prev. only had enablement packages. this is also causing different outcomes.
