Windows 11 Version 24H2 Bugs
What's the function of windows insider program if the public releasing windows still has many bugs up until now?
Hi Jooze, I am happy to explain and add my two cents. Being a Windows Insider for 10 years.
1. The programs size is small. You must understand there are 1,5 billion Windows 10/11 devices out there, some OEM some custom-built hardware.
There are millions of HW combinations and drivers and most of all not everyone does case for driver, firmware, or BIOS updates. making even more millions of combinations even on SAME hardware.
2. Then there are different approaches to the program. Some run it in VMs, which gives not much but exploring UX and features and repro bugs. Some run it on their "daily drivers".
3. Some are just using it as a side hustle and some are seriously active providing actionable and quality feedback.
4. Insiders are split into up to three channels, I would guess the fewest are in release preview which means testing what's coming next before release.
5. Within these 3 channels a lot of A/B / wavebase testing causing another fragmentation within the program, so results are not necessarily the same for everyone.
I have heard that 24H2 has high "safeguard holds" this time.
It is the first Windows release sind W10 1903 that requires a full upgrade where prev. only had enablement packages. this is also causing different outcomes.
