Windows 11 screen goes black after waking from sleep, only mouse moves
After waking my PC from sleep, the screen is totally black but the mouse cursor still works. Keyboard is unresponsive, I can only force restart. Tried updating graphics drivers and disabling fast startup, no luck.

Hello, try these steps
- Quick fix (fastest test) Press: Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B This resets the graphics driver and can immediately bring the display back https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshooting-blank-screens-in-windows-51ef7b96-47cb-b454-fcab-fac643784457
- Restart Windows Explorer (if Task Manager works) Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc Find Windows Explorer → Right‑click → Restart https://bing.com/search?q=Windows+11+black+screen+after+sleep+mouse+moves+fix
- Update or reinstall graphics driver Open Device Manager → Display adapters Right‑click the GPU → Update driver Outdated or faulty drivers are one of the most common causes https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-black-screen-sleep-fix/
- Turn off Fast Startup Go to Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what power buttons do Disable Fast Startup This feature can sometimes cause wake‑from‑sleep issues https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-black-screen-sleep-fix/
- Disable hibernation (optional test) Open Command Prompt (Admin) Run:
I hope this works please let me know if it does Thanks!
Best Regards!

The key clue here is that your mouse cursor is visible but the keyboard is unresponsive. This suggests that the system itself isn't completely frozen, but the Windows shell (the part that manages your desktop, taskbar, and File Explorer) has failed to load properly after waking up.
