Windows 11 - Do you like it?

This is a general poll to get a view for how the community feels about Windows 11.

2 votes are accepted for those who have a "somewhere in between" response.

Do you like it? Gonna stay with Windows 10 or 7? Do you prefer something else?

If you're on the fence about it, what don't you like?

Share your thoughts and remember, there is no wrong answer, what you like is what you like, but also remember this is about Windows 11, not Linux.

No the main reason is to install it requires a Microsoft Account and they have taken away the right of the user. To decide for themselves. If you try to sell your machine and the buyer wants to look at what information you have provided. They have to enter their details and then if they choose not to buy. Then you have to reset Windows again.  Plus like in Windows 10 to many Apps that are not useful and cannot be deleted.

  • I do, actually. I found Windows 10 hard to navigate, and make me long for Windows 7. Windows 11 seems quite a bit more intuitive to me... A couple of things I wish though -

    1) more transparency/consistency in application data structure. I genuinely have no idea where to find anything installed by the store - and my overall programs/apps seem to be in a mix of program_files, appdata folders or a hidden WindowsApps folder. This shouldn't be hidden.

    2) The automatic OneDrive integration, no thanks. It's caused me some really bizarre issues - like the desktop being nested in another desktop, with duplicate folders being restored from the cloud. I don't want all my personal files on Ms servers, and the way it's presented  in File_Explorer is just confusing.

    3) Add an immutable windows icon to any process within Task Manager that is a normal, microsoft-approved, fresh-install process. To make distinguishing processes easier.

    4) Have one unified place for startup items. ONE. Not 5 different things to check..

    5) Make a list of Microsoft's software - not just the trendy user apps, I mean like PowerToys, WinDbg, etc - these are things no one knows about until they hear about them

There's an uncanny silence in the comments regarding this question here in the Tech Community, while in the community for ordinary users the waves are torrential.

probably because that's not something anyone can troubleshoot from over the internet, and he gave no actual info. It was a lazy rant post, not a request for help. I understand ranting, but you at least gotta put some effort into it

I don't like Windows 11 and have avoided in much the same way as Windows 8. Fortunately I can continue justifying using Windows 10 on the basis of compatibility grounds. Windows 11 seems less logical. I can see why TPM is required for corporate systems and you are just trying to make systems as secure as possible but I don't see why otherwise it has to a prerequisite to run Windows 11. Until it matures further I'll delay the inevitable as long as possible.

i don't like it, there are apps I can't run and the OS has too many issues and errors.
