Win11 Pinch-to-zoom in certain apps does not work after the system has been idle for several hours
The gesture works after restart and fails after the device enters a low-power state, while other touch input remains responsive. That pattern points to the input-device driver or resume path, not to pinch-to-zoom being globally disabled. First determine whether the failing gesture is on a precision touchpad or touchscreen, then test it in two applications. Install Windows updates, including offered driver updates. In Device Manager, identify the precision touchpad or HID-compliant touch screen and record its provider and version before changing it. If the problem began after a driver update, use Roll Back Driver; otherwise uninstall only the affected device and restart so Windows reinstalls it. Obtain model-specific chipset or input-device packages from the manufacturer. Compare sleep with hibernation and test while connected to power. If every application loses pinch after resume, report the model, Windows build, driver version, device type, and power-state steps to the manufacturer and Feedback Hub.
