"What is "windows input experience"? Specifically what does it do? Is it data collection? What is its' purpose?"
Windows input experience is a service used for handling input from your devices like your mouse your keyboard. In Windows, a service is a program that runs in the background without any user interface. These services perform essential tasks, such as managing hardware devices, running scheduled tasks, and providing various system functions. This service specifically helps the windows operating system to get input meaning the keystrokes you put on your keyboard or the way you move your mouse and tell them to the computer.
Does it benefit me or help run my laptop?
Yes it is really important to your laptop and you really do not need to disable it. Without it you can use your mouse or keyboard.
Can I disable it or delete it?
No you can't just delete or disable it simple though there are some complicated methods to disable it but the whole windows operating system wouldn't start without it and either it might get replaced again or you would have to reinstall windows. The point is you cannot use your keyboard or mouse or touch screen and you can't do anything without them on a computer.
-Lastly I have already tried going into the regedit and changing the values to 0 to both the input and current version DSH. However, it still is active. Why isn't this working?
Maybe because it is an core part of windows and you cannot even disable it simply by using the registry editor.
If you have any further questions please do ask them, I would be more than happy to help you.
Thank you have a great day ahead!
