W11 automatically downloading AFTER rollback to W10
I'm pulling my hair out here. I "upgraded" to W11 on launch day, but use a Ryzen CPU. Obviously performance issues on my generation of CPU are well known now, so I rolled back to W10 on my 10th day (...

Hey, I tried everything and it didn't work so then I went to turn off diagnostic data feedback in Settings>Privacy>Diagnostics & feedback and then I ran the windows update troubleshooter and seems like its working I no longer see Windows 11 downloading/installing. Hope it works for you too

Feb 14, 2022Hi Tepsiya,
Consider using the hide/unhide update tool from Microsoft found through a internet search or find the YouTube video which shows how to use the registry carefully to make sure that it stays on 21H2.
Thanks
Shawn

- tepsiyaFeb 14, 2022Copper ContributorMy method is working and windows 10 works perfectly fine
- RobinMartinOct 31, 2024Copper ContributorResurrecting this old post as a result of my experience.
I delayed updating to Windows 11 until I saw recent posts about security improvements.
W11 upgrade was flawless, only realising issues when using existing Apps and online games.
Massive "jerkiness" and lag even in typing a line of text in Discord, animated GIFs also jerky, etc.
Researched the restore and completed same without much ado.
To get rid of the pending upgrade as noted here and in many media posts:-
* Added policy to restrict system to Windows 10, 22H2
* Performed downloaded artifact cleanup
* Used Windows Update troubleshooter to resolve notification and pending restart issue.
( Thanks tepsiya for that last tip )
HTH,
Robin
