"This publisher has been blocked from running software on your pc"
- Jul 26, 2023Right now, i am working with the idea that this is related to IPV6
my network only runs IPV4, and normally, we turn off the IPV6 functionality to prevent issues. usually the problem we see with IPV6 is no connection to the network. in this case, the computer does see i am on the Domain, but somehow lists the EXE as out of network. i checked other computer settings, and the network is listed as Domain which is correct, but my thinking here is, since IPV6 isnt configured for this network, the requests for the EXE are using the wrong IP protocol, and not going anywhere/misrouted. I have already disabled IPV6 on the network card, then logged out and back in on my computer, and so far it is working. but the reinstall worked for the first day, so i will report back in 24 hours.
i know this doesnt seem likely given the symptoms, but, given this keeps happening after everything else. its the only thing i havent tried yet.

I appreciate it, but this is an app I have had on this particular computer for the last 3 or 4 months without incident and on 20 other machines for the last 15 years. The link assumes I am trying to install it for the first time. I have it installed already and trying to run the exe either locally or from the mapped drive on the server.
I not only removed the app from the untrusted certificate store but I reinstalled the certificate in the trusted store.
It worked for 1 day.
I have already worked that list, prior to posting.
And uninstalling the update - probably this caused the problem or did you try it?

Or uninstall/reinstall the program?- DeletedJul 20, 2023
start by uninstalling KB - check when the problem is and this way you will find out which update caused the problem.
Of course, if that doesn't work, reinstalling the program usually helps.
- Anton_H1720Jul 26, 2023Copper Contributorthe reinstall was a temp fix. as soon as i logged in this morning, the problem was right back. it takes about 20 min and 3 reboots to re-install this app so that is not a long term fix.
the part that stands out about the error though is that is says "The file is in a location outside of your local network". i am in a domain environment with a mapped network drive to a server on the same network, but i am thinking that somewhere in my computer, it is either not logging into the network properly, (but that would be a different error) or somehow this connection was mis classified as private or public network.
