Theme won't stick when using multiple desktops
Is there any solution for desktop backgrounds constantly changing (by themselves) when switching between virtual desktops? This has been ongoing for a year now, and Win11 seems unable to remember and store my wallpaper preferences.

Hello,
I have found a solution here !https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/virtual-desktop-disables-background/bf1a3a08-db67-4061-ab72-1a6fa5815622

Is it? Because the page is giving a 404 error.

Following steps works for me:
- Close all virtual desktops (create a new one and close all others to make sure the remaining one has default configration)
- Delete these resistry keys:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VirtualDesktops\Desktops
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers
- Reboot

Unfortunately, not a fix. It resets it so you have the same issue, but to the new default settings (assuming you changed them). I can change the background, then as soon as I switch to another VD it reverts the settings to whatever they were when I performed the above steps.
- fteyssierCopper ContributorAny chance to have a correct fix for this (annoying) bug ?

- jake_04Copper ContributorI have the exact same issue even when my system is up to date.
- BerequilCopper ContributorEnsure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Microsoft often releases updates that address bugs and issues, including problems with desktop customization.
- DarylMarkCopper ContributorThis can't be a serious response. Windows updates automatically, so the idea of "ensure you have the latest updates" is about 20 years out of date - back when I had to dial in.

One thing you can try is to reset the settings for your desktop backgrounds. Here's how:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalize" from the context menu.
- In the Personalization settings, click on "Background" in the left sidebar.
- Under "Choose your picture," select a different background image.
- Then, revert back to your preferred background image.
- Click on "Choose a fit" and ensure it's set to "Fill," "Fit," or your preferred option.
- Close the Personalization settings.
