The Task View icon on the taskbar does not respond when clicked

Because Win+Tab opens Task View, the Task View process itself is working; the failure is limited to the taskbar button or your Windows shell profile. Open Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, turn Task view off, sign out, sign back in, and enable it again. Then install pending Windows updates. If clicking still does nothing, open an elevated Terminal and run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, followed by sfc /scannow, then restart. Test the button in a newly created local Windows account. If it works there, the fault is user-profile-specific; move your data to a fresh profile or repair that profile rather than reinstalling Windows. If it fails in every account while Win+Tab continues to work, record the Windows build with winver and submit the behavior through Feedback Hub. Avoid third-party taskbar tools while testing, because they can replace or intercept shell commands.
