The serverdid not register with DCOM within the required timeout

Since installing 2026-03 Security Update (KB5079473) (26200.8037) on my Windows 11 Pro device running Version 25H2 on March 10, 2026, I have been receiving this error in the Event Log each time I boot:

The server {A7451292-7906-414C-BB7B-DFD32C749E5C} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout

This is not a warning.  It is noted in the event log as an error.  It doesn't appear to be impacting performance, but I don't like seeing boot errors.  Has anyone else seen this error?  Is there any way to solve it?

I have no outstanding updates or outstanding driver updates.  I am not running 3rd party antivirus tools.

It is completely understandable that you want to clear this boot error from your Event Log, even if your system is running fine. Based on the details you've provided—specifically the timing right after the KB5079473 update and your Windows 11 25H2 build—you are not alone in seeing this.

Azraelen If I am reading your responses correctly, it is a known issue.  Do you know if that means that Microsoft is aware of it an planning to address it?

I've looked up the reasons for receiving this error and have learned what you described in your second reply.  Internet searching suggested it had something to do with Microsoft Store Apps and recommended running the Microsoft Store Troubleshooter.  The challenge with that is that particular troubleshooter is not available on Windows 11 Pro.

The event code states it is a timeout, but it is giving me nothing to go on as to what is timing out, or as you suggested, may be incompatible.  I haven't installed a lot of apps on this device because Windows 11 proved to be so unstable after I unboxed it.  I've done no fewer than three in-place repairs and two resets.  But the last reset seemed to stabilize the device, so on March 7, 2026, before installing KB5079473, I installed Acronis True Image 2025.

after installing the March 2026 security update on Windows 11 Pro (version 25H2), is a known issue that some users have reported, especially after recent updates. While it's not causing performance issues, it can be annoying to see in the logs.

indicates that a particular COM server failed to register properly during the Windows startup process. Since this occurred after installing the March 2026-03 Security Update (KB5079473) on your Windows 11 Pro device running Version 25H2, it suggests a possible compatibility or timeout issue introduced by this update.
