Question Windows 10 to 11 issue

I am currently using Windows 10 and I decided to switch to 11 (got annoyed of that full screen warning Microsoft keeps popping in my face about the EOL of Win10). My motherboard supports Win11 but it appears that my pc doesn't meet the requirements, most probably due to that BIOS settings.

My question is, if I change my BIOS so it can auto-update to 11 without having to format the pc or anything (I have huge files I need) will I still lose my files? I think I've read somewhere that I may lose them all.

Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 can be done as in-place upgrade, which means your programs, files, and settings are preserved.

Enabling BIOS settings ( TPM/Secure Boot) will not erase your files. If you upgrade via windows update keeps your files. Also changing booth modes ( legacy -> UEFI) without proper conversion can cause boot issues, but not actual file deletion.

However, there is always a small risk of data loss or compatibility issues, especially if the upgrade process encounters errors or hardware/BIOS configuration problems.
