Problems with chkdsk /f/r
Hello,
I have recently upgraded to Windows 11 from 10. Yesterday I decided to do a chkdsk /f/r of my C drive. When I restarted my laptop, the screen displayed "Scanning and repairing drive (C:)", but then it went to my login window almost immediately. It seemed the chkdsk procedures were not performed, am I correct? If so, what will the reason be? I have done that a few more times and the same result.
Any suggestion/comments are appreciated.
Thank you.

When you run chkdsk /f /r on the system drive (C:), Windows typically schedules the check for the next restart. During startup, it should display a screen showing progress of the disk check, often with "Scanning and repairing drive (C:)."

Yes, that's what it's supposed to be doing. It did that with Windows 10 but with Windows 11, but it didn't. It went to my log-in screen soon after the "Scanning and repairing drive (C:)" appeared.
Thanks.

If chkdsk isn't performing as expected, it's often because Windows is skipping it or it runs too quickly without performing repairs. Running it explicitly from an elevated command prompt and ensuring no fast startup are enabled usually helps.

I did use the "Run as Administrator" at the cmd prompt, otherwise it won't let me proceed with the command.
The chkdsk worked when I was using Windows 10 but not after I upgraded to 11. I haven't changed any settings.
Thanks.
