problem with a black screen will pop up saying Windows Updating Do Not Shut Down....
I have an Acer Aspire 5 laptop running Windows 11 and once in a while a black screen will pop up saying Windows Updating Do Not Shut Down....
I did not start a Windows Update and I have gotten some emails/texts from some of my accounts saying they have declined some suspicious purchases of gift cards online, also some of my contacts have gotten an email from me that I did not send about and invitation from me. I have changed my passwords and the black screen still appeared again. Any idea what has happened and how to fix/block it? Thanks in advance, Mike

Run a full virus scan using Windows Defender in Safe Mode, and check for any malicious scheduled tasks.

Disconnect from the internet immediately, run a full virus scan using Windows Defender and Malwarebytes in Safe Mode, and check for any malicious scheduled tasks.

That’s what happens sometimes when you keep putting off installing the latest updates – eventually the computer says: “Sorry, mate, I HAVE TO RESTART NOW!”
Regarding your second complaint: Are you telling us that these 'malicious' emails were sent at exactly the same time as your 'black screen'?
Personally, I'd recommend you reinstall Windows! – Then nothing can go wrong!
